Yellowing teeth is very common, but people think it is a sign of bad oral hygiene. This is a wrong assumption. So many people suffer from this situation. And they are using some expensive measures for whitening their teeth. You can whiten your teeth using someitems around us.
Â
We can easily whiten our teeth at home. Here are five ways to whiten our teeth:Â
Baking soda is the most common ingredient used in toothpaste and it has a whitening property. Baking soda helps scrub off stains from the teeth and helps to remove bacterial growth. We can make the mixture at home by taking one teaspoon of baking soda and mixing it with two teaspoons of water. Put a little of the resulting paste on your brush and brush your teeth.
Activated charcoal is considered the easiest and most inexpensive way of whitening your teeth. Activated charcoal is the same as normal charcoal, but is made for medical purposes. It can remove the dirt from the teeth and give a bright white color to our teeth.
Oil pulling is the traditional method to improve oral hygiene. Swishing oil in your mouth for 15 to 20 minutes can remove all the bacteria from your teeth. Daily practicing can reduce plaque and help to brighten your teeth.
Hydrogen peroxide is a natural bleaching agent used to kill bacteria. Many teeth whitening products contain hydrogen peroxide as a whitening agent. The safest concentration of hydrogen peroxide ranges from 1.5% to 3%. We can mix hydrogen peroxide with baking soda to make a paste and use it as toothpaste.
Strawberries contain malic acid, which is used in dental products for whiting purposes. To make the paste, crush and mix a large strawberry in half a teaspoon of baking soda.
Â
Many factors affect teeth to become dull and lose their bright color. Some food items affect our enamel and make stains. Enamel is the outermost layer of the teeth and this stain causes them to look yellow. The main reasons for yellow teeth include:
Genetics
Smoking
Food
Medication
Illness
Mild tooth trauma
Aging
Poor oral hygiene
